Distribution/Transportation Industry in Alabama

- In 2007, Vanity Fair Brands LP announced a new distribution center in Monroe County, creating 200 jobs.
- In 2006, Children’s Place announced a new children’s merchandise distribution center in DeKalb County. The company will invest $55 million and create 300 jobs.
- In 2005, Wal-Mart Stores announced a $30 million expansion of their distribution center in Cullman County and adding 150 employees.
- In 2005, Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. announced a new fabric and craft goods distribution facility in Lee County. With an investment of $46 million, the new facility will create 425 jobs.
- In 2004, Dade Paper announced a new premium paper, plastic, foam disposables and janitorial supplies distribution facility in Baldwin County. With an initial investment of $.588 million, the new facility will create 125 jobs.
- In 2004, Ferguson Enterprises, a plumbing/HVAC distributor, announced a $6.5 million expansion in DeKalb County, adding 30 jobs.
- In 2003, Conrad Yelvington Distributors announced a $5.2 million capital investment in a new distribution rail facility in Mobile County that would create 16 jobs.
- In 2003, Millard Refrigerated Services announced a new $27 million cold storage and distribution center in Mobile County, creating 200 jobs.
- In 2002, Meow Mix announced a $12 million cat food distribution center, creating 77 jobs.
- In 2001, Wal-Mart Stores announced a new $40 million grocery distribution center in Pike County, creating 600 jobs.
