Businesses are often so involved in running their operations that they fail to take advantage of numerous programs and incentives that are available to help them prosper in Alabama. There are many resources available to Alabama companies already operating in the state.
From assistance with expansions, to work force or production issues, EDPA staff can provide assistance, or put you in touch with the appropriate sources.
EDPA Process Improvement Training Team
EDPA realizes the importance of Alabama’s existing industry and has launched teams of experts to help Alabama companies reach their full potential.
EDPA’s Process Improvement Training (PIT) program offers production and leadership tools to help Alabama companies operate more efficiently and safely, with an emphasis on quality and continuous improvement. PIT was developed to help Alabama companies increase their competitive edge.
PIT leaders have been trained through the Alabama Operations Management Institute (based on the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International production model) and can work across a broad spectrum of industries. Work is customized to an individual company’s needs.
The program was developed by EDPA in conjunction with the Alabama Technology Network, the two- and four-year college systems and Alabama Power Company, who cooperatively staff the program.
The program is built on a “train the trainer” model. PIT leaders will train participants, who are encouraged to teach and engage fellow employees. This allows for sustainability of the program and allows for greater results, so participation and support from management is a key factor for successful implementation.
Topics included in the program are:
Workplace Organization
Standardization
New Hire Training
Visual Management
Time Management
Process Flow
Practical Problem Solving
Annual Planning
Just-In-Time Inventory Management
Sustainability
