Located in northeast Alabama, the City of Heflin, is the Gateway to Alabama’s beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Heflin is situated in a perfect location on Interstate 20 halfway between Atlanta, GA (72 Miles) and Birmingham, AL (75 Miles) making Heflin a prime location for retail and industry. With a population of over 3,400 people in the city limits, Heflin is a just an hour drive to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Birmingham Shuttlesworth Airport. The Norfolk Southern Railway runs through Heflin along with major truck and automobile thorough fares such as US Highway 78 and Alabama State Highways 9 and 46. As the county seat of Cleburne County since 1905, Heflin is the center of retail, industry, government, and cultural activities for the area.
Heflin has achieved several recognitions including being chosen an ACE Community in 2008, Sports Town USA in 2003, and is also home to the Lake Point Disc Golf Course at Cahulga Creek Park. The Cleburne County School System in Heflin, was awarded a Bronze Award for Best High schools by U.S. News in 2013. Heflin is home to two major industries, Southwire and Sewell Manufacturing.
